(Reuters) – NerdWallet Inc said on Saturday it had not filed for bankruptcy, saying fraudulent filings had appeared on the Electronic Public Access Service for U.S. federal court documents.

“NerdWallet has not filed for bankruptcy. This is a fraudulent filing and we are actively investigating the situation,” the company said in a statement.

The document, which appeared Saturday morning, was signed by Robert Johnson and listed an address in Buffalo, New York.

The business address provided appears to be residential.
