Neutronpay receives $1.5 million in funding to expand Bitcoin Lightning Network in Southeast Asia
Bitcoin Lightning Network company Neutronpay has secured a $1.5 million bridge funding round led by Axiom Capital, according to a press release sent to Bitcoin Magazine. This investment is intended to help Neutronpay provide instant and cost-effective payment solutions to Southeast Asia’s digital economy through Bitcoin.
“We are excited to continue supporting Albert and the team as they demonstrate the utility of Lightning infrastructure in Southeast Asia,” said Allen Farrington, speaking on behalf of Axiom. “We expect the Lightning Network’s superiority over traditional fiat banking rails for a variety of payment categories to continue to be normalized, and we are excited to support Neutronpay as one of the leaders at the cutting edge of this technology.”
Axiom Capital’s support reflects confidence in Neutronpay’s ability to demonstrate what the Lightning Network can bring to Southeast Asia. This is because the technology is expected to outperform existing fiat banking rails for a variety of payment categories.
“This pivotal milestone marks a significant expansion of our business across Southeast Asia and beyond, expanding into the dynamic markets of North Asia,” said Albert Buu, Founder and CEO of Neutronpay. “By leveraging the unparalleled potential of the Lightning Network, we not only facilitate faster and more efficient transactions, but also open up new possibilities in the digital economy.”
Neutronpay also recognizes the importance of cultural integration in Southeast Asia, so the company said it is taking an approach that expands beyond financial transactions and aims to align with the region’s cultural and economic narrative.
