(Reuters) – A Norfolk Southern (NYSE:) A train derailed Saturday, sending diesel fuel and polypropylene plastic pellets spilling into the Lehigh River in eastern Pennsylvania, police said.

The Lower Saucon Township Police Department said in a statement that there were no reports of injuries or evacuations of train crew members or hazardous materials threats to the community.

Emergency crews were dispatched and containment booms were deployed to control the oil spill, he added.

Ancora Holdings, which holds a large stake in the company, called for the immediate dismissal of Norfolk Southern Chief Executive Officer Alan Shaw and called for an orderly reorganization of the board, the company said in a statement following the derailment.

Early last year, a train operated by the Norfolk Southern Railroad derailed and caught fire, sending smoke billowing through the eastern Ohio town of Palestine and forcing thousands of residents to evacuate.

President Joe Biden visited the area last month and called the train derailment a “greedy act.” He urged Congress to pass bipartisan legislation to strengthen rail safety laws.
