Ordinal numbers – why do you need an inscription to transmit an engraved satoshi?

Starting with the Bitcoin ecosystem, the debate over inscriptions quickly catches my attention. As for the entire transfer of the engraved sat, I can’t get my mind off why another inscription was needed to carry out the transfer.

  "op": "transfer",
  "tick": "ordi",
  "amt": "100"

Let’s say you want to configure a simple funds transfer transaction using:

txin1 - The inscribed satoshi utxo
txin2 - utxo to pay fee
txout - The utxo sit at receiver address

It seems to me that the epitaph is duplication of effort and wasted network resources. It makes sense to me when we want to break down what’s engraved. brc-20 Why do I need it for a full transfer when I have tokens to attach to separate sats with these transfer inscriptions? Or am I missing something?
