‘Parallel’ creator explains Solana’s ‘Colony’ AI game in detail, raises PRIME price to highest ever

Ethereum NFT card battle game parallel only Open beta has started But Parallel Studios is already working on its next cryptocurrency game and building on it. Solana Instead of.

Colony, which the studio previously teased, is now blank It launches late Thursday and offers an in-depth look at the game, which will be built on the foundations of a parallel world based on very different gameplay and a new chain.

Described as a “survival simulation” game, Colony is powered by generative AI and played by autonomous “agents” that cannot be directly controlled. You can strengthen your agent’s skills by answering a few questions to establish his or her baseline personality, but it will evolve over time.

AI-based agents will have minds of their own. You can make suggestions to agents, but they may not always follow through.

“For example, a user might suggest to his or her avatar, ‘Should we plant apple trees for food in the future?’” the white paper explains. “The avatar responds to the suggestion and, in some cases, may Interpret this in light of other goals you may have – and even potentially reject the owner’s suggestions if you feel they are out of character or conflict with other goals you are pursuing.”

“In such cases, the owner can discuss or persuade the avatar to complete the task,” it continues. “Eventually, the avatar sets its intended goal and begins to pursue the actions it deems most advantageous, sometimes ignoring its owner’s suggestions, without the owner directly controlling each action.”

Colonies are initially built around existing parallel avatars. NFT, of which 11,001 exist on Ethereum. The whitepaper proposes that PRIME token holders can vote on governance proposals to issue that number more on Solana.

This is because the game includes a “breeding” mechanic that creates more agents over time, similar to Axie Infinity and colorful monster generations. Ethereum’s PRIME token is used in the game as a wrapped token linked to Solana and paid out to players as in-game cryptocurrency rewards.

However, you must own an NFT avatar to receive cryptocurrency rewards. A “free-to-play” version is also available, but it does not allow users to earn PRIME rewards, hold items, mint items as unique NFTs, or transfer items outside of the game. In any case, even “free” players have to pay to cover the cost of the LLM (Large Language Model) that powers the AI.

“Users will still be required to provide funds to cover the fees associated with the agent’s use of the underlying LLM during gaming sessions,” the white paper states. “This is structured in the same way as the fully compensated version of Colony, where players fund their avatar’s LLM calls with funds deposited into the avatar wallet by the owner.”

The Parallel team expects to release a public alpha version of Colony in Q4 2024 or Q1 2025. The white paper provides more details, but we’ll likely see and hear more about the game in the coming months. Especially since Parallel has been gaining steam lately. .

The Colony announcement appears to have boosted the price of PRIME, with the price soaring 22% in the last 24 hours, with the current price exceeding $21. It rose even further early Friday, hitting a new all-time high of $23.39 per data. CoinGecko.
