Prisma hacker-linked wallet moves funds to Tornado Cash after $11 million heist

According to security firm PeckShield, a wallet linked to the hackers behind Prisma Finance’s $11.6 million exploit transferred 18.40 ETH ($6.5 million) to cryptocurrency mixer Tornado Cash over several transactions.

The attack on Prisma Finance occurred yesterday, resulting in the theft of assets held on the protocol, including mkUSD and wrapped stETH.

Prisma Finance also Confirmed They discovered an exploit against X and announced that the Prisma protocol has been suspended to protect remaining funds. It claimed that the mkUSD stablecoin is overcollateralized and not at risk.

The DeFi protocol shared a post-mortem analysis of the exploit on X and said it would work to recover the stolen funds.

According to Immunefi’s latest report, in the first quarter of 2024, the cryptocurrency industry lost a whopping $336 million due to hacks and fraud.
