Bitcoin

Private Key – After attempting to transfer with an imported key, I receive the following message: “The public key is neither compressed nor decompressed.”

I still have my old Bitcoin wallet (circa 2012) and its private keys. Download the bitWallet app for iOS, enter your private key there, and you will see your wallet with your balance and all your transactions. I wanted to transfer Bitcoin to a new wallet, but I got the following error:

required-script-verify-flags-failed (public key is neither compressed nor decompressed)

My secret key is 52 characters long and starts with 5HpH…

Step 1: Insert your private key into the bitWallet (iOS) application and it will automatically calculate the correct address.

Step 2: Click ‘Save’ and you will see a list of your balance and transactions in your wallet.

Step 3: You want to transfer your Bitcoin to your default wallet. When I enter the address and click “Done” I get an error.
