Render Network Announces Major Changes to RNP

According to a recent announcement from Render Network, two Render Network Proposals (RNPs), RNP-013 and RNP-015, have been submitted for final community voting, and an amendment to RNP-000 has been proposed for initial community discussion.

RNP-000 revision

The amendments to RNP-000 provide additional information on Render Network grants, reduce quorum requirements to 15%, and eliminate the ‘Render Network Team Review’ step to reduce centralized decision-making and empower the community. The goal of the changes is to simplify and streamline the RNP structure while clarifying the distinction between RNPs and Render Foundation Grants.

RNP-013: Year 1 emissions rebalancing

RNP-013 proposes reconfiguring render network first-year node emissions to build a new long-term emissions pool for data generation rewards. Emissions rebalancing also improves node emissions by providing allocations for render network node availability compensation.

RNP-015: Availability Compensation

RNP-015 outlines a compensation mechanism for active nodes in the network, regardless of the emissions provided for processing computing tasks. The purpose of Availability Compensation is to address key challenges in creating consistent provision for the scaling of multifaceted distributed computing networks. These rewards were initially passed in RNP-001 and include a model showing the impact on node operator earnings based on past network activity.

Final voting details for RNP-013 and RNP-015
