Republican National Committee Endorses Bitcoin-Backed Platform in Party Draft
Today, the Republican National Committee approved the draft 2024 party platform, which strongly supports Bitcoin.
On page 9, the draft explicitly states, “We will defend Bitcoin mining rights and ensure that every American has the right to keep their digital assets in their own custody and trade them without government oversight or control.”

He also pledged to end Democrats’ “illegal and un-American crypto crackdown” and oppose the creation of a central bank digital currency (CBDC). The platform committee overwhelmingly approved the new draft, according to The Hill, and will face a final vote on Tuesday.
This decision is a clear statement from the Republican Party in support of Bitcoin and cryptocurrency innovation, and stands in contrast to the unwelcoming stance currently taken by the Biden administration and the Democrats.
The draft reflects growing interest and advocacy within the party to protect and support Bitcoin, and is consistent with a broader trend of Bitcoin adoption and support among a range of Republican politicians. In May, Donald Trump said he would “make sure the future of cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin is made in America.”
