Saga mainnet launches 350 Web3 projects
Layer-1 protocol Saga has officially launched its mainnet, a pioneering protocol designed to usher in a new era of web3 development. This important development represents Saga’s commitment to create thousands of new chains, primarily focused on the gaming and entertainment sector.
With the release of the Saga mainnet, the company aims to provide a robust infrastructure that meets the needs of mass adoption, ensuring developers have the tools they need to realize their vision.
At the heart of Saga’s innovation is the concept of “Chainlets,” a new approach that allows developers to easily launch proprietary blockchains. The move is set to transform the traditional complexity of smart contract deployment into a streamlined process, providing a scalable and secure environment for applications.
Saga’s introduction of shared security, precise validator tuning, and automated deployment pipelines represents a groundbreaking move toward achieving horizontal scalability without sacrificing performance or security.
A key feature of the Saga mainnet is the elimination of gas fees for end users. This is a strategic decision that opens up numerous possibilities for developers. This initiative paves the way for the creation of innovative application models and engagement strategies, potentially expanding the reach and user base of web3 applications.
“By launching the Saga mainnet, we deliver on our promise to redefine web3 development by enabling creators to deploy blockchains at no cost to end users,” said Rebecca Liao, co-founder and CEO of Saga, emphasizing the company’s vision. do.
The mainnet launch marks the beginning of the Saga Innovator program, which has already attracted 350 projects. The initiative aims to foster an ecosystem of visionary web3 developers, with gaming projects making up 80% of the program.
Partnerships with renowned companies such as Com2uS in Korea and MarbleX in the US highlight the international interest and potential of the Saga protocol.
To further strengthen the ecosystem, Saga has partnered with leading layer 1 protocols such as Polygon, Avalanche, and Celestia to enhance their infrastructure leveraging Chainlet technology. This partnership not only highlights Saga’s leadership in web3 development, but also its ability to provide scalable solutions across the blockchain spectrum.
Saga announced a phased token distribution plan featuring airdrops of $SAGA tokens to participants upon mainnet launch and monthly airdrops to $SAGA stakers by over 100 partners. This token distribution strategy is designed to add value to the Saga community and encourage ecosystem participation.
Going forward, Saga outlined a multi-stage strategic rollout aimed at evolving the ecosystem. The initial phase focuses on building critical infrastructure components such as the Saga security chain and platform chain. Future phases will introduce improved developer tools, support for a wider range of virtual machines, and deeper integration within the web3 ecosystem.
March 2024 saw the introduction of Saga Origins, a games publishing division dedicated to releasing powerful, wide-ranging web3 games. As the first web3 chain with a dedicated game publishing division, Saga Origins highlights the company’s commitment to supporting game developers and connecting innovative games with the community.
Backed by major investors such as Placeholder, Maven11, Longhash, and Samsung, Saga has raised $15 million to date, demonstrating strong confidence in its vision and technology.
