Sebi approves appointment of Pramod Agrawal as BSE Chairman
MUMBAI – The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) has approved the appointment of Pramod Agrawal as Chairman of BSE Ltd with effect from January 17, 2024, the exchange announced.
Last week, the exchange’s board approved the appointment of Agrawal as board chairman as incumbent chairman SS Mundra’s term expires on January 16.
BSE appointed Mundra, a former deputy governor of the Reserve Bank of India, as chairman of the stock exchange in May last year.
The stock closed nearly 4 per cent lower at Rs 2,311.75 on BSE on Wednesday. The stock has performed exceptionally in 2023, providing investors with a whopping 325% return.
