sensex reaches an all-time record: Fresh Peaks! Sensex surges 500 points on gains from HDFC Bank, Nifty extends Mt 22,600
The BSE Sensex was trading at 74,369, up 496 points or 0.67 per cent. Nifty50 was trading at 22,579, up 144 points (0.64%) around 9:20 am.
HDFC Bank rose nearly 3% in early trade and was the top gainer on the Sensex as India’s largest lender reported a 55.4% year-on-year rise in total advances to Rs 25.08 lakh crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2024. . Deposits are combined. As of March 31, 2024, it was approximately Rs 23.80 lakh crore, growing by approximately 26.4% year-on-year.
Among Sensex stocks, NTPC, Power Grid, Axis Bank and Kotak Bank also opened higher, while IndusInd Bank, Sun Pharma, HCL Tech and SBI opened lower.
Avenue Supermarts rose 5% after the company’s standalone revenue from operations rose 19.9% year-on-year in the March quarter.
KEC International share price rose 10 per cent after the company received orders worth Rs 816 crore. The total order volume for fiscal 2024 was Rs 18,102 crore. More to come…
