Tensor NFT Marketplace Announces Solana Token Launch and Coinbase Listing

Solana NFT marketplace Tensor plans to launch its long-awaited TNSR token next week, while leading U.S. cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase said on Friday that it plans to list Solana-based tokens.

Coinbase did not specify when the TNSR token would be listed, but the digital asset is expected to launch on April 8. The TNSR launch coincides with the end of Season 3 of the Tensor Rewards Program and the start of Season 4 trading incentives.

Tensor Foundation revealed on Twitter that participants in the referral program will receive a “treasure chest” containing TNSR tokens. According to the Tensor Foundation, all treasure chests from the first three seasons of the show will be available to view and opened on April 8.

“Tensorian has played a key role in the growth of the Tensor Protocol to date. Therefore, an additional 1% of the $TNSR supply can be claimed by staked Tensorians until the claim date.” Tensor Foundation added on Twitter that this claimable supply is in addition to the allocation earned through points.

According to data from Tiexo, Tensor has the most active wallets among the Solana NFT marketplaces, with approximately 345,000 unique wallets in the last 30 days. This is more than double that of its competitor, Magic Eden. However, Magic Eden has recently taken a commanding lead in terms of trading volume. It has nearly 60% market share in the last 30 days compared to Tensor’s 35%.

Coinbase recently increased listings of Solana tokens. In December, Coinbase listed the very popular Bonk (BONK) Solana meme coin. The listing of Bonk and TNSR follows Coinbase listing other Solana-based tokens Bonfida (FIDA) and Orca (ORCA).

Coinbase’s roadmap for upcoming Solana-based token listings includes Shadow Token (SHDW) and Neon EVM (NEON).

On Wednesday, cross-bridge protocol Wormhole (W) launched an airdrop campaign for more than 400,000 wallets across Solana and other chains. Coinbase announced that the exchange will also add support for Wormhole Perpetual Futures on Coinbase International Exchange and Coinbase Advanced.

“Our goal is to list all possible assets that meet our standards for legal, compliance and technical security. These standards do not take into account the market capitalization or popularity of the project.” Coinbase said in a blog post shared along with the TNSR announcement.
