The Ethereum Foundation welcomes Microsoft as a premier sponsor of Devcon2, taking place in Shanghai from September 19-21, 2016.

London, England, June 14, 2016 – The Ethereum Foundation is pleased to announce Microsoft as a premier sponsor of Devcon2, the Ethereum developer conference taking place in Shanghai from September 19-21, 2016.

Showcasing the latest research and development work supported by the Foundation, Devcon2 also represents the most comprehensive Ethereum-focused developer conference to date.

Vitalik Buterin, Chief Scientist at the Ethereum Foundation, said: “We are thrilled to receive Microsoft’s sponsorship of Devcon2 and deeply appreciate Microsoft’s continued support and collaboration with the Ethereum Foundation and the Ethereum ecosystem. Microsoft is an early leader. Blockchain as a Service (BaaS), which provides an open hyperscale cloud platform and expanding blockchain technology ecosystem for enterprises, consortia, and governments looking to adopt the technology. As part of the conference, Ethereum developers will hear from Microsoft experts and learn about Microsoft Azure’s key tools for developing blockchain technologies.

Devcon2 continues to be an independent event, but this year it was introduced as part of Devcon2. International Blockchain Week With events from Wanxiang Blockchain Labs. The week-long, single-venue format offers the development-focused Devcon2 and business- and industry-focused Global Summit events in one week, fostering greater interaction and cross-pollination between those involved in different areas or aspects of blockchain technology.
