Despite the challenges faced by cryptocurrency community members who flew to the United Arab Emirates for Token2049, the number of attendees who persevered surprised the leaders and executives attending the event.

On April 18, attendees faced difficulties that could have led many to simply turn around and leave the country, with roads blocked.

Several leaders who were scheduled to be interviewed by Cointelegraph were stuck at various airports and had to turn back due to the situation.
