(Reuters) – U.S. Central Command said on Saturday that U.S. forces carried out self-defense strikes against six Houthi anti-ship cruise missiles ready to fire at ships in the Red Sea.

The statement added that U.S. forces have identified cruise missiles in areas of Yemen controlled by Houthi rebels and determined that the missiles pose an immediate threat to U.S. Navy ships and commercial vessels in the region.
