Vedanta Q3 Update: Vedanta Q3 Update: Aluminum production increases by 6% to 5,99,000 tonnes.

New Delhi: Vedanta Ltd on Wednesday announced a 6 per cent increase in total aluminum production to 5,99,000 tonnes in the third quarter of the current fiscal. The company’s aluminum production in the same period last year was 5,66,000 tonnes.

Zinc International’s total mined volume was 41,000 tonnes in the December quarter, down 40% from 69,000 tonnes in the same period last year.

In a regulatory filing, Vedanta said salable iron ore production from Karnataka stood at 1.4 million tonnes in the third quarter of this fiscal.

Pig iron production in the December quarter stood at 2,03,000 tonnes, compared to 2,00,000 tonnes in the same period last year.

According to the filing, marketable steel production rose 11 per cent to 3,41,000 tonnes due to improved operational efficiency and availability of blast furnaces.

Production in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal was 3,06,000 tonnes.
