VGX Foundation, Gala Games, and Genopets partner to provide VGX token rewards to Genopets players

VGX Foundation, a Cayman Islands foundation, has partnered with Genopets to incorporate VGX tokens as rewards for Solana’s popular revenue-generating NFT mobile games. This partnership introduces VGX as a rewards token in Genopets games, creating utility and rewards for the use of VGX within the Genopets ecosystem.

VGX is a token focused on connecting multiple chains and connecting utilities across GameFi and the gaming ecosystem.

Genopets was released in 2021 and is one of the biggest games on Solana with over 200,000 active players during closed beta. This is a free-to-play mobile game where players summon digital pets (“Genopets”). These pets evolve and grow as the player moves and acts in the real world. Each day, players save the steps they take in the real world to earn energy that can be used to upgrade and customize the Genopet through evolutionary stages. You can now award VGX to players for the energy they earn in the game.

The partnership will kick off with a series of competitions where Genopets players can earn VGX from a $150,000 prize pool by increasing their daily step count and competing on energy leaderboards. Leaderboard competitions are open to new and existing Genopets players.

Additionally, new players who download Genopets can receive special rewards of rare food and toys for Genopets by signing up as a new user and using the referral code “VGX” when depositing their first steps during this campaign.

To further expand the partnership, players who earn VGX can take it to Gala Games and use it to purchase Voyager: Ascension’s Season Pass, which can unlock additional rewards in future games.
