Virgin Galactic spaceship carries tourists. By Reuters
(Reuters) – Virgin Galactic took four tourists to the edge of space aboard a spacecraft on its second flight this year, the company founded by Richard Branson said on Saturday.
The Galactic 07 mission carried Turkish, American, and Italian passengers to an altitude of about 55 miles (88.51 km) in a flight that lasted just over an hour.
The space tourism company said the mission lifted off and returned Saturday from Spaceport America in New Mexico.
The company said in a statement that this marks the final commercial flight of Virgin’s VSS Unity spacecraft as the company is currently producing its fourth generation spacecraft, which is expected to enter commercial service in 2026.
