Wallet Backup Description: Reasons Tre Zor replaced the term ‘recovery seed’ with ‘wallet backup’ | By henry windle | February 2025

If you use your encryption (or plan to plan) for yourself, you probably heard these terms before.
• BIP-39 Seed Station
• Nimonic phrase
• Recovery phrase
• Recovery seeds
• Seed phrase
• Backup
• Seeds
Good news? They all mean the same! But for new users, this term can be confusing when securing assets.
In Trezor, I used this term before. “Recovery seed.” But after seeing how it caused confusion, we decided to simplify it.
Honestly, how many new people “Seid Poetry” am? It is not intuitive. Especially when we use the device we use to ensure encryption, it is not intuitive when we call it a hardware wallet. It is easy to get lost in professional terms. This is delayed only to control encryption!
It is exactly what it sounds. If you have to lose your device and recover your wallet Use your wallet backup.
Our wallet backup can look like this:
Or this is:
Even this too:
(We will explain this below!)
Wallet backup key or Master password In your password wallet.
If the Trezor hardware wallet is damaged, this wallet backup is required to recover funds. Without it, you cannot access, transfer or manage funds.
It will be Stored in a safe place Without it, you can be permanently locked in your encryption.

When setting a new wallet 12, 20 or 24 words word.
The list of words created in the hardware wallet is a wallet backup. It represents a private key that can access your wallet.
“But what about the above crazy number list? Is it my wallet backup? ”
There is a fun fact… Wallet backup does not actually start with a list of words!
It begins with a long, random random string of mathematically derived characters, then converts into words to read as humans.
Another interesting fact: The founders of Trezor have pioneered this approach!
If you find a way to convert personal key data into simple words, it has become an industry standard.
(Another reason for choosing Trezor… Humble 😉)
