Why more people choose Aldi over other supermarkets
Aldi is one of the fastest-growing retailers in the United States. The German grocery store chain has grown from a single location in 1976 to more than 2,300 national stores today. The company added about 120 new stores in 2023 alone and doesn’t seem to have any plans to slow down anytime soon.
In 2022 (the last year for which data is available), Aldi gained around 9.4 million new customers. Of course, one of the reasons for growth is more space. As a personal example, a new Aldi is opening about 10 minutes from my house in late 2023. Previously, you had to drive about 30 minutes to shop at Aldi.
There are many reasons why so many Americans have become loyal Aldi customers in recent years. Here are a few of them:

Aldi has cheaper prices than its competitors.
Best of all, shoppers love how much they can stretch their grocery budget at Aldi. Various comparative studies have been carried out, and almost all of them have shown that Aldi generally has lower prices than other popular chains, even those known for their discount prices. For example, produce at Aldi can be up to 68% cheaper than produce at Walmart, and even cheaper for organic meat.

With inflation taking a toll on food prices in recent years, saving money on food has become more important than ever to Americans’ personal finances. And Aldi can certainly help you do just that.
Aldi sells versions of popular products with safer ingredients.
As a parent of two picky children, ages 8 and 5, balancing what my kids will eat and making sure they are consuming reasonably healthy products is a constant struggle.
For example, my daughter only wants to eat Cap’n Crunch cereal for breakfast, while my son wants nothing but Lucky Charms. Unfortunately, both are full of dyes and other junk that we don’t really want to eat. Not only does Aldi offer their own completely undyed version, but it’s also a lot cheaper than the name brand version. And most importantly, our children cannot tell the difference in taste.
This is just one example. Aldi offers several versions of popular products that don’t contain dyes and other ingredients you’d normally want to avoid.
Aldi products are guaranteed
Warranties are especially important if your store sells a lot of unique products like Aldi. Luckily, all Aldi exclusives are covered by the company’s “Twice as Nice” guarantee. This essentially means you can return a product you don’t like and get your money back.
Some exceptions apply, but this makes us more comfortable with being a little adventurous when it comes to food shopping.
conclusion
Of course, no grocery store is perfect, and Aldi is no exception. For example, you need a quarter to use the Aldi shopping cart, but there have been times when I’ve forgotten one (I get it). why Aldi does this, but it’s still a problem 😉 And Aldi doesn’t always have the same products in stock every time you visit. At least not as stable as some of its competitors.
That said, ever since Aldi opened near my house, it has become my go-to grocery store for many items. As you can see, there are some excellent reasons.
