Yuga Labs co-founder explains comeback rumors despite worsening health

Nonfungible token (NFT) entrepreneur Wylie Aronow has confirmed he is not ready to return to Yuga Labs, the NFT company he co-founded, despite “steady progress” in his health.

“I’m not ready to work part-time again. I have to be around for a long time for those who need me.” Aronow said We addressed rumors of a potential return on December 11th.

“My point is that although my health is steadily improving, there are still some pretty wild swings. And this is a marathon for me.”

Aronow explained that some days he feels ready to throw himself into the “deep end,” while other days he feels like he has to be “wheelchaired” to the emergency room.

Aronow, also known as Gordon Goner, took time off in late January after being diagnosed with congestive heart failure. In the same announcement, Wylie dismissed rumors that Yuga Labs had used neo-Nazi and racist imagery, calling them “lies.”

At the time, he said he would continue to serve as a board member and strategic advisor to Yuga Labs.

Despite taking a step back, Aronow said he had the opportunity to overlook the operations of Yuga Labs, the team behind NFT projects Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) and CryptoPunks. Suggest changes if necessary.

He explained, “I think we have identified the core problem that is holding us back and resolved it in no uncertain terms at the last board meeting held two days ago.”

That said, Aronow is backing current leadership in 2024, a year that could determine the company’s success or failure.

“I left the meeting with renewed confidence in our leaders and the entire Yuga brand. “They know there is pressure for 2024 and I think they will impress you.”

Aronau explained that although he had previously been reluctant to take a step back, his condition had worsened so rapidly that he had no choice but to put the work back on his priority list.

“I pushed myself beyond my limits. I worked 12 hours a day almost every day. “I should have listened to the advice of people around me and found a balance.”
