Lamborghini and VeVe to launch new NFT car collection this week

Luxury car manufacturer Lamborghini announced plans this week to launch a collection of non-fungible token cars. The luxury sports car manufacturer has teamed up with VeVe, a digital marketplace for premium licensed digital collectibles, to create its upcoming NFT collection.
Lamborghini launches new NFT collection
In a post on the site on February 13, Lamborghini confirmed that it is ready to launch a new collection of non-fungible tokens in collaboration with the Veve NFT marketplace platform. The now highly anticipated NFT collection is scheduled to launch this weekend, February 18th.

Founded in May 1963, Lamborghini is an Italian luxury sports car and SUV manufacturer headquartered in Sant’Agata Bolognese. Lamborghini is owned through Audi, a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group. Car manufacturer Lamborghini Veneno is known for manufacturing one of the most luxurious cars in the world, which sells for around $8.3 million.
Lamborghini’s Metaverse and NFT Journey
Lamborghini announced its entry into the cryptocurrency market in early January 2022. At the time, the automaker partnered with Swiss artist Fabian Oefner, NFT Pro and Sotheby’s to launch its first NFT collection known as “Space Time Memory.” NFT collections have attracted tremendous interest.
In July 2022, Lamborghini, through its Vincenzo Sospiri Racing subsidiary, signed another partnership agreement with GO2 NFT, a digital NFT marketplace platform, to launch a program to authenticate race car parts. Vincenzo Sospiri Racing is a racing team supported by Lamborghini’s motorsport division.
At the end of August, Lamborghini began its adventure into the world of non-fungible tokens. At the time, the luxury car manufacturer partnered with NFT PRO and INVNT.ATOM to launch a new NFT project called “The Epic Road Trip.” The NFT program aimed to give users a taste of motorsport racing in the metaverse. It lasted 8 months.
Early last year, Automobili Lamborghini announced a new collaboration with digital collectibles platform VeVe to tokenize Lamborghini sports cars as NFTs on the platform. Through this partnership, VeVe and Lamborghini will launch their highly-awaited NFT collection this weekend.
