Network identification based on transaction hash

I was wondering if there was a way to know which network was used to send a transaction based on whether the transaction hash was present or not.

My inquiry is based on an issue found on ETH IO Blockscan where an unknown network was used. We have the transaction hash, but we don’t know how the sender initiated the transaction. The transaction was then picked up by Coinbase’s “transfer” account, and instead of being redirected to the Coinbase account from which it was sent, Coinbase’s transfer account held the cryptocurrency in question. I’m currently working with Coinbase to “claim” my cryptocurrency, but I was wondering how they could tell me more information about which network was used based on the transaction hash itself. Also, if anyone knows more about Coinbase issues but knows that’s not the purpose of this forum… Thank you all!
