Bitcoin miners can receive instant, non-custodial rewards through the Lightning Network
Titan Mining, an enterprise Bitcoin mining pool company, announced Titan Lightning, which seeks to transform the way Bitcoin miners earn rewards by giving miners near-instant access to their profits.
Titan Lightning uses the Lightning Network to ensure that on-chain rewards are paid directly to miners’ non-custodial wallets whenever a new block is discovered on the Bitcoin network. This is significantly different from the payment delays associated with managed mining pools.
Titan Mining CEO Ryan Condron explained: “At Titan, we believe it is important to empower miners around the world. The Titan Lightning solution provides instant access to mining rewards, improving liquidity and putting control back in the hands of miners.” Integration with the Lightning Network allows miners to receive block rewards every 10 minutes with no minimum payout.
Additionally, Titan Lightning’s integration with Lumerin Hashpower Marketplace aims to democratize access to Bitcoin mining. Founded by the same team as Titan Mining, Lumerin provides a peer-to-peer platform for mining capacity trading. This means that even non-miners can participate and experience the potential benefits of accelerated Bitcoin payouts. As reported by Lumerin, this development positions Bitcoin mining hash power as a unique real-world asset for global on-chain exchange.
The Titan Lightning mining pool and Lumerin integration presents a new application of Bitcoin hash power, which Titan describes as follows:
“Bitcoin now” is more valuable than “Bitcoin later”.
Miners will now be able to receive payouts “as soon as a new block is written to the Bitcoin blockchain.” As Bitcoin halving approaches, interest and focus on Bitcoin mining is likely to increase with each cycle. ASIC miners are still in short supply, but the ability to participate in the hashpower marketplace and use Lightning payments is an attractive concept for new users to explore.
