Casio Launches Virtual G-Shock Watch as Ethereum NFT with Exclusive Benefits

Japanese electronics company Casio has launched an exclusive digital art collectible collection featuring iconic G-Shock brand watches. Ethereum NFTs.

Owners will also receive first rights to purchase the next Virtual G-Shock NFT, along with behind-the-scenes design materials related to the Virtual G-Shock watch. Casio also hinted at future opportunities for NFT holders to collaborate to create new digital Casio products.

“These special incentives for collectors demonstrate our passion for innovation in both the digital and physical realms,” said Takahashi Oh, senior general manager of Casio’s watch division. “We aim to deepen our engagement with the G-Shock community, putting them at the center of our innovation process.”

Two virtual G-Shock designs are available. These are the VGA-001 with the “balloon concept” and the VGA-002 with the “leaf spring concept”. Both envision fantastical designs not possible with traditional physical materials.

There are 1,000 editions available for purchase for 0.1 ETH, or nearly $230 at the time of this writing. Previous Polygon Pass holders were given an early opportunity to purchase Ethereum NFTs.
