Vodafone Idea Q4 results: High debt widens net loss to Rs 7,675 crore.

Vodafone Idea’s net loss for the fourth quarter of the financial year (FY24) widened to Rs 7,675 crore sequentially due to high debt and continued subscriber decline.

The joint venture between Britain’s Vodafone Group Plc and India’s Aditya Birla Group recorded its highest ever quarterly EBITDA of Rs 2,180 crore following their merger in 2019.

Vi’s average revenue per user (ARPU), a key performance indicator, rose 0.7% sequentially to Rs 146.

Akshaya Moondra, CEO, Vodafone Idea Limited, said, “We are pleased to report annual revenue and EBITDA growth for the second consecutive year, driven by continued improvement in performance over the past few quarters despite significant investment declines. “It clearly reflects our ability to execute.”

“We have recorded 11 consecutive quarters of ARPU and 4G subscriber growth.” He said this in Thursday’s earnings report: Quarterly revenue also fell slightly amid continued customer losses, underscoring its inability to compete with larger rivals Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel. It reported a 0.6% decline in quarterly revenue. The telco, which posted a loss of Rs 10,610 crore, ended the March quarter with a lower user base of 213 million compared to 215 million in the October-December quarter. However, the telco’s total 4G base increased to 126.3 million in the March quarter. It sequentially increased to 3.9%.

Shares of the telco closed 0.3 per cent lower at Rs 13.15 on the BSE on Monday. The quarterly results were released after hours.
